PROGRAMS AND CONCENTRATIONS WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF NUTRITION SCIENCES

B.S. in Nutrition Sciences

• Students meeting the requirements established by the department will receive a B.S. in Nutrition Sciences.
• In order to become a registered dietitian (R.D.) students must also:
• Complete the didactic requirements outlined below.
• Apply for, become accepted into, and complete a CADE-approved dietetic internship.
• Pass the national registration examination.

Didactic Program in Dietetics

Concentrations

Comprehensive: This general program will allow students to meet all DPD requirements.
Nutrition Requirments for Comprehensive Concentration

Sports Nutrition: This concentration allows the students to take specialized courses in sports nutrition and kinesiology. Students in this concentration will meet DPD requirements.
Nutrition Requirements for Sport Concentration

Dietetics Management: This concentration allows students to take specialized courses in food and beverage management. Students in this concentration will meet DPD requirements.
Nutrition Requirements for Dietetics Management

Pre-professional: this concentration provides a well-rounded science background for those students interested in applying for graduate or professional schools. Students completing this concentration DO NOT meet the DPD requirements.
